Miss Clarke's Adventures

Hello everyone from Sri Lanka,

After many hours of travelling we have finally arrived at the Millennium Elephant Foundation (MEF). This is where we will be spending the first two weeks of our adventure. We were extremely excited to meet our elephant, Pooja. We will be working with Pooja every day cleaning her bed, counting her dung, bathing her in the river and helping the vet to check her over.

Since arriving we have found the people here to be very kind and friendly. We have already volunteered to get involved in several other community projects coordinated by MEF. There are classes held for local children to learn English, Eco gardening tasks, the Dogstar Foundation and supporting local orphanages. It seems like there is going to be plenty to keep us busy here and we can’t wait to get stuck in!
